Discover what it’s like to be part of the crew at Zoox! We are proud to introduce some of our talented crew and provide an inside look into what it’s like to work at Zoox.

What do you do here at Zoox?

I am a manager on the Systems Design and Mission Assurance (SDMA) team. SDMA is responsible for delivering the overall safety case to drive Zoox vehicles autonomously on public roads. My team focuses on verification and validation of the platform safety requirements, safety configuration management, and the systems safety for operations and service.

How did you find your career in the AV industry?

After 14 years in complex systems engineering for classified satellite programs, I wanted to venture into a start-up environment and test out applying systems engineering methodologies to a new cutting-edge product. While on maternity leave with my second daughter, a Zoox recruiter reached out to me. I took the leap as it was also important to me to switch to an industry where I could share my work with my daughters, too.

How do you hope to make an impact in this space?

I’m looking forward to using traditional systems engineering techniques to build the right-size process and rigor to evaluate our prototype vehicles on the path to deploying true service vehicles. I also want to lead by example to keep a high bar for technical and process integrity, while maintaining our Zoox values and building a sense of team and community at Zoox.

What is it like to work at Zoox?

The people are incredible, and I love the transparency, respect, and one-Zoox community that you can feel every day. Zoox has many of the smartest and most inquisitive people I’ve ever worked with.

What excites you about the future of Zoox?

I believe in Zoox and the vision of changing mobility in cities. I am proud that Safety is Foundational at Zoox. I want a service that I could confidently put my daughters in someday.

What is your favorite feature of the Zoox robotaxi and why?

The soundtrack. Riding in a Zoox feels like a swanky vacation.

If you were a La Croix what flavor would you be and why?

I would probably be unsweet ice tea instead.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself?

Back in 2009, I was a contestant on the television show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire when Meredith Vieria was the host.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I have three young daughters (ages 1, 5, and 7). We love exploring San Francisco playgrounds and doing creative arts and craft projects. My daughter made a cool picture of a Zoox vehicle a couple years ago.
