What are the rules for using a Zoox robotaxi?

In Las Vegas, visit us at the Resorts World Las Vegas casino entrance. In San Francisco, visit us at the Zoox Rider Lounge at 301 Sutter St.

The Zoox app isn't available for my device. How can I take a ride?

Zoox uses interior cameras and microphones in its vehicles to help ensure the safety and comfort of your ride. The cameras record the entirety of your ride. We may also use artificial intelligence and machine learning to help operate our services.
Zoox’s interior microphones are active when you speak with Zoox Support. To comply with regulations, Zoox records conversations with Zoox Support. Zoox may also use interior microphones to monitor for acoustic signatures indicating a comfort or safety issue within the vehicle. Zoox does not save recordings related to this monitoring. Other than conversations with Zoox Support, the interior microphones do not record your ride.

Does Zoox use interior cameras and microphones?

From inside the robotaxi, doors can be opened and closed during pickup or drop-off using the touchscreen.
You can press the Help icon on the touchscreen or the overhead Emergency Call Button to connect to Zoox Support. You can also call or text 1-888-477-5055.
If necessary, Emergency Door Handles are next to each row of seats at opposite corners of the vehicle. To open a door in an emergency, pull the handle with your left hand and push the door closest to the handle with your right hand.

If I’m inside the robotaxi, how can I open the doors?

Yes. The robotaxi won’t move until all riders are wearing their seatbelts. Please stay seated and buckled at all times, even when the robotaxi isn’t moving.

Do I have to wear a seatbelt?

Use the touchscreen to close the doors. Make sure everyone is seated and buckled, then press the start ride button on the touchscreen.

How do I start my ride?

Call 911 if there is a life-threatening emergency. For non-life-threatening emergencies, contact Zoox Support using one of the methods below:

Press the Help button in the app or on the touchscreen at your seat

Press the Emergency Call Button (labeled with the braille word “Emerg” on the button) located above your seat

Call or text 1-888-477-5055

How can I get help?

Anytime you need help

If the robotaxi is in a non-life-threatening collision

If the robotaxi stops unexpectedly

If the robotaxi isn’t moving for an unusual amount of time

If you notice unusual robotaxi behavior or if the robotaxi almost made contact with someone or something

If you feel sick

If you need assistance opening the doors, closing the doors, or starting the ride

When should I contact Zoox Support?

Press the Emergency Call Button overhead. This will connect you to Zoox Support, who can pull the robotaxi over to a safe place.
You can also call or text Zoox Support at 1-888-477-5055.

How do I stop the Zoox robotaxi in an emergency?

Call 911 for medical problems, injuries, or if there’s a life-threatening emergency.

When should I call 911 instead of contacting Zoox Support?

Tap the Chime button, and your Zoox will light up and play audio so you can identify it easily. Additionally, the app will show the license plate of your Zoox. To choose a light and audio theme for your Zoox, tap the gear icon on the robotaxi image in the app once you’ve been matched with a Zoox for your ride.

If I see more than one Zoox at my pickup location, how do I identify which Zoox is mine?

Our robotaxi manual is a great resource for curious riders. Read it here.

Where can I learn more about the Zoox robotaxi?

Trained service dogs are welcome. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate pets or emotional support animals. For safety, we ask that you keep your service dog on the floor during the ride. Alternatively, you may want to bring a dog seatbelt attachment to use with the robotaxi’s seatbelt buckle.

Can I bring my service animal?

Reach out to the Nevada Transportation Authority via email at nta@nta.nv.gov or call them at 702-486-3303.

How can I contact the Nevada Transportation Authority?
