Discover what it’s like to be part of the crew at Zoox! We’re proud to introduce some of our talented crew and provide an insider look at working at Zoox.

What do you do here at Zoox?

I am a CAD BoM (Computer-Aided Design Bill of Materials) Release Engineer on the Vehicle Development team. I manage the Bill of Materials for our test vehicles and work cross-functionally to release mechanical designs. Additionally, I support the maturation of our product lifecycle software to ensure that it meets our business requirements.

How did you find your career in the AV (autonomous vehicle) industry?

I previously worked in the aerospace industry, initially as a manufacturing engineer and later transitioned to a system engineer. However, I wanted to find a new opportunity in the Bay Area, where I grew up. Eventually, I came across roles in the AV industry which I found fascinating because of its innovative technology.

How do you hope to make an impact in this space?

I hope to enable our crew with the necessary tools and processes to produce a safe and reliable product. I believe great work can come with ease when supported by the right tools and processes. In the future, I hope to influence young women in STEM and help them develop careers in engineering.

What is it like to work at Zoox?

Working at Zoox makes me feel like I’m on a TV show sometimes. Every day is another episode where we have a wide variety of characters and thickening plots. There’s never a dull moment. Stay tuned!

What is a day in your life as a CAD BoM Release Engineer like?

A typical day for me consists of evaluating the necessary changes to be introduced to our vehicle builds. My team serves as a bridge between program management and design engineers to ensure that their parts are correctly integrated with the other subsystems, ultimately preparing them for order or build.

What excites you about the future of Zoox?

I’m excited to build a disruptive product that will change the future of transportation. Building a product that can support every diverse subset of people and classes in hopes of making people’s lives easier is the dream!

What is your favorite feature of the Zoox robotaxi and why?

The ceiling lights! I love that it feels like you are sitting under the stars.

If you were a LaCroix what flavor would you be and why?

Personally, I would consider myself more of a green tea gal. Simple and classic with a bit of a boost.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself?

I’m a first-generation Filipino-American! My mom immigrated from the Philippines when she was 18 with her 12 brothers and sisters, so I grew up with a large Filipino family.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I love to do all things outdoors. In San Francisco, you can find me at Golden Gate Park with my dog. Additionally, I enjoy traveling and living out of a backpack whenever possible and scuba diving wherever I can.
