What do you do here at Zoox?

I am a Technical Recruiter. The simplest way to describe my job is that I search for talented engineers to bring on board.

How did you find your career in the AV industry?

Since starting my recruiting career, I’ve primarily worked in the medical and pharmaceutical space. I found my way into the AV industry when I was seeking a new opportunity. I've always wanted to work in the tech space so when I stumbled across Zoox and discovered that they were building a fully autonomous vehicle, I thought to myself, “This would be really fun to be part of.” And here I am.

How do you hope to make an impact in this space?

My goal is to find talented individuals who are passionate about robotics and share a similar vision that we have at Zoox. By bringing those individuals in, we will be able to build a fully autonomous robotaxi, get our product to launch, and expand to as many places as possible.

What is it like to work at Zoox?

Joining Zoox has been one of the best decisions I've made for myself on a professional and personal level. I like that our culture and environment are a melting pot of knowledge from folks who come from a vast array of domains. In such a short amount of time, I've been able to learn so much not just in the automotive industry but the technology world. And everyone at Zoox is really nice.

What excites you about the future of Zoox?

What excites me most about Zoox is getting our robotaxi out for public use so that everyone can experience all the hard work and effort that’s gone into our product and service. I’m also excited to share a ride with my family and friends.

What is your favorite feature of the Zoox robotaxi and why?

My favorite feature is the bidirectionality of our robotaxi. Being able to reverse its north and south quadrants is an amazing feature. Imagine never having to worry about doing a 3 or 5-point turn.

If you were a La Croix what flavor would you be and why?

If I'm being honest, I'm not a fan of La Croix. However, if I had to choose a drink at Zoox, it would be a decaf coffee with a good helping of Chocolate Premier Protein. It's like drinking a mocha latte without all the sugar.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself?

An interesting fact about me is that I was born in the Philippines, and I am the youngest of eight.
