Zoox is building the quality team that will take our first-in-class autonomous robot from development to commercialization. Zoox Quality engineers will report to the Sr. Director of Corporate Quality and Reliability and will support the development of the quality-related specifications and requirements to ensure that Zoox’s product and service deliver a level of quality that exceeds our customer’s expectations.
Zoox Quality engineers will define and monitor the Quality control activities starting from the design/development phase, supporting quality definition, FMEA analysis, etc., continuing in the production process and ending with the “in service” activity, monitoring Quality standards and taking actions to detect and fix quality issues (failure analysis, recall campaigns, etc.).
Zoox Quality engineers will contribute to the definition and improvement of the Zoox Quality Policy and Manual. They will play a fundamental role in setting up procedures and processes that will allow Zoox to align with the international standards for Quality Systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9000, and similar). Zoox’s quality team will rely upon different QE with different competencies and focus. This position is for a quality engineer with a specific focus on electrical/electronic systems and components.
Quality engineering responsibility for Zoox electrical systems and components (including high and low voltage harnesses, PCBAs, and sensors)
Electrical system quality life cycle ownership Including drawing reviews/approvals, and design releases
Cultivate effective relationships with design teams to assure functional and other requirements meet product quality level, design intent, and ZOOX standards
Collaborate with other members of the quality team to develop key quality specifications and procedures
Experience with automotive-style end of line testing and procedures. Able to develop and support other teams to develop a functioning system to assure product quality is achieved.
Experience in automotive electrical systems from basic wiring to the complex interaction between electrical systems.
Experience with relevant automotive and applicable technical standards governing electrical systems and components.
Engineering Degree in the respective field - Electronics / Electrical
At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering (electronic /electrical / testing)
Automotive experience at the OEM or Tier I level
Experience in start-up/product launch activities
Manufacturing engineering experience
