Strategic Operations is the team that is responsible for laying the foundation for fleet operations by finding the most scalable ways to deliver on the customer promise and drive operational efficiency and effectiveness across the L3 & L5 fleets, personnel, equipment, and processes

The StratOps intern will support the entire Fleet Operations team on special projects. The project will vary based on the intern’s interest and business needs, but examples include: building a recommendation on how to segment our fleet to maximize utilization, creating safety metrics to establish the safety standard across the industry, and establishing a program to drive increased fleet efficiency. The intern will structure solutions to complex problems, perform deep data-driven analytics, generate insights, & then build cross-functional consensus among the team to enable execution. 

Requirements

  • Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., or advanced degree in a relevant program. For undergraduates, we are accepting only juniors and seniors.
  • Good academic standing
  • Can commit to at least a 12-week internship
  • At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area
  • Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship
  • Interns at Zoox may not use any proprietary information they are working on as part of their thesis, any published work with their university, or to be distributed to anyone outside of Zoox.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, supply chain, operations management, or similar field. 
  • Passion for the automotive and technology industries
  • Highly analytical, with a proven ability to synthesize and analyze large amounts of data and then develop insights and recommendations
  • High proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel)
  • Understanding of advanced data analytics, specifically with the ability to comfortably speak to software, engineering, and data science teams
  • Intellectually curious with the ability to challenge conventional thinking
  • Excellent problem solving, writing, and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic about being adaptable, rolling their sleeves up, and working with grit
Vaccine Mandate

Employees working in this position will be required to have received a single dose of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine OR have completed the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series. In addition, employees will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine by the earlier of (1) April 15 or (2) within two months of becoming eligible for the booster vaccine.
