Decision making and motion planning are the primary responsibilities of mobile robots. Taking input from a variety of perception and localization systems, the planner's job is to figure out where the robot is going and how to get there safely.  We're looking for a software engineer with an advanced degree and experience building real-time motion planning/trajectory generation algorithms for robots in uncertain environments. 

As a software engineer on the AI Integration team, you will help demonstrate the safety of Zoox's AI stack. The tools and processes you develop are key to quantifying continual progress at scale toward safe and trusted autonomous behavior on public roads. The team is highly cross functional, working together with Simulation, Infrastructure, AI (Planning and Controls, Prediction, Perception), and System Design and Mission Assurance.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of related production level software experience
  • Fluency in C++
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Extensive experience with programming and algorithm implementation
