Decision making and motion planning are the primary responsibilities of mobile robots. Taking input from a variety of perception and localization systems, the planner's job is to figure out where the robot is going and how to get there safely.
All of our team members are software generalists. In addition to a solid background in software engineering, different members have exposure to fields such as compilers, computer architecture and numerical methods. This team can be a good fit for you if you are passionate about code quality, correctness, robustness and can carefully consider various safety and performance trade-offs to design high quality software.
Responsibilities
Maintain and improve the quality of the planner software stack
Find and fix memory and concurrency issues in the planner software
Robustify the core planner libraries by careful analysis and testing
Improve planner runtime performance
Design new software modules for mission planning and other primarily non-behavioral planner algorithms
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Strong proficiency in C++
2+ years of professional software development experience
Experience with software testing methodologies
Experience with Linux
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with safety-critical systems
Experience with numerical methods
Strong mathematical and geometrical skills
Experience with Python
