As the Senior Project Manager within the Places and Build department, you will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of various improvement projects across our diverse portfolio. This portfolio includes a wide range of assets- offices, manufacturing, R&D, testing and service facilities, with complex infrastructure challenges and include various employee amenities such as full commercial kitchen(s)/cafes, micro-kitchens and gyms. You will own project deliverables beginning with lease negotiations all the way though occupancy and project close out. Tasks include but are not limited to budgeting, tracking, design development, vendor selection, project oversight, change management and overall risk mitigation. The role is highly strategic and requires someone able to adjust to frequent changes. A successful person in this role will be passionate about all things related to development, including real estate, design, schedules, contracts, and more. You will champion innovative and creative spaces, along with solutions that support Zoox’s mission and growth both in the near and long term.    


  • Lead multiple capital construction projects from initiation to close-out
  • Manage all facets of a project (budget, tracking, RFPs, contracts, schedule, procurement, quality, risk) during all phases including due diligence, planning, design, construction, occupancy and closeout
  • Prepare, create and present financial analysis, justification and project descriptions for executive review and approval
  • Provide real-time tracking of budgets, schedules, and deliverables throughout the project process
  • Support real estate expansion initiatives with due diligence, schematic design services, budgets, and schedules as required
  • Create project management processes, templates and standards that will support future projects across our expanding portfolio
  • Secure 3rd party consultants as required through a well-defined RFP/approval process  
  • Lead the construction bid process for contractor/subcontractor(s) selection
  • Present and make formal recommendations to senior leadership for capital funding approvals
  • Partner with key internal teams such as EHS, Security, Culinary and Space Planning, to develop project plans that meet the company’s growth requirements
  • Prepare and coordinate project reviews for internal teams at all project phases including conceptual, schematic, design development and construction phases
  • Manage and secure local permits as required 
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all extended and external project team members from lease execution through project turnover
  • Professionally represent Zoox’s interest at all meetings with Consultants, General Contractors, and suppliers
  • Create and monitor control systems for cost estimates, value engineering, budgets, schedules and change orders
  • Provide management with a monthly status report, including financial reporting for ongoing projects
  • Drive both internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines as required per the project schedule
  • Organize and manage project records on a real-time basis for use across Zoox


  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience including 3 years of direct corporate design and/or construction project management experience
  • Experience leading commercial projects greater than $10M
  • Extensive knowledge of current SF Bay Area construction market
  • Experience building complex & technical projects such as data centers, manufacturing lines, commercial kitchens, EV charging infrastructure, etc.
  • Experience working in multi-tenant buildings
  • Strong understanding of various project delivery methods and cost tracking
  • Knowledge of construction industry best practices, including building and ADA codes
  • Ability to produce and maintain project budgets and schedules and conduct financial analysis
  • Ability to produce and deliver effective and persuasive presentations and project status reports for senior management
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time while maintaining priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to think creatively and to provide non-standard solutions
  • Ability to identify risks and develop risk mitigation plans
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and organizational skills
