Zoox is looking for a Program Manager to support our Prototyping Fabrication team. The Prototyping Fabrication team serves as an internal resource within Zoox providing hardware fabrication services for the company’s research and development needs.

In this role, you will work with our shop team leaders to maintain a high level of operational effectiveness from the prototype fabrication team. You will be the point of contact for our customers to seek fabrication support, as well as having a specific focus on the triaging and coordination of jobs as they come into the shop.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily triaging of incoming job requests, working with customers to define and elaborate request information
  • Provide job prioritization for shop team leads based on customer needs, shop load, and processes
  • Support the shop team leads to create and maintain daily schedules for a team of skilled craftspeople in a job-shop environment
  • Maintain a clear understanding of workload on machines and individuals, and highlight backlogs when present
  • Point of Contact for internal customers to ensure an excellent level of service is provided, including guidance and mentorship on job scoping and technical feedback
  • Define and participate in the development of IT tools to improve shop processes and workload visibility
  • Clearly report shop metrics, progress, wins and challenges to management

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, or program management
  • Experience with prototyping and early-stage product development, including prototyping manufacturing techniques (CNC machining, fabrication, additive manufacturing, post-process heat and surface treatments, automation, DFM)
  • Demonstrable understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Track record of process and organizational development activities
  • Experience with manufacturing quality control environment

Bonus Qualifications

  • PMP or other business or management-style certification
  • Lean manufacturing training
  • First-hand experience operating manufacturing equipment and tools
  • Experience in a job-shop environment, especially from a scheduling perspective
  • Proficient in CAD programs such as Catia V5/V6 or Solidworks
  • Proficient in JIRA
