As our Test Manager, you will lead the operations for all component and sub-system internal testing within the vehicle development team at Zoox. We design and integrate cutting edge systems and components across all vehicle systems, which must survive the electrical, mechanical and environmental stresses seen in automotive environments. Many of these systems are safety critical and are held to high reliability standards. In addition, we are developing our testing capabilities and facilities across our 2 test labs in Foster City and Fremont. The role will also support the specification, planning and deployment of new equipment as we progress in our next phase of test and validation.

Zoox is looking for a manager with strengths across electrical and mechanical engineering, including high voltage components for automotive applications. You should have a genuine passion for following a structured testing process and for testing components and systems to help uncover functional and durability issues.

Responsibilities

  • You will work cross-functionally to coordinate test campaigns and meet company milestones
  • You will institute effective test strategies, methodologies and processes
  • You will manage internal test facilities, and develop metrics to track efficiency and improvements
  • You will develop new facilities and equipment
  • You will guide Zoox test engineers to complete component and system level testing from development to qualification
  • You will grow the testing department to meet company goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 10+ years of industry experience
  • 5+ years industry experience in a test leadership role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in testing low voltage and high voltage automotive components
  • Experience with EE lab equipment, reliability test equipment, data acquisition tools, and test automation

Bonus Qualifications

  • Strong Automotive EE Fundamentals
  • Experience with test facility development
  • Experience with hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, RS232, and Ethernet
  • Familiarity with ALM tools (Polarion preferred)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
